Karlstejn

This was a great week. We were able to go up and have an amazing fire side with all of the  missionaries in the Czech Republic in memory of our mission being dedicated on July 24th 1929. Amazing oppertunity and experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. I don't have a ton of time today, but I would love to share my testimony about God's will. He loves us all and knows us personally. I love my mission and what God is giving us to learn here. He gives us everything in life so that we can learn, we had a great discussion with a nice lady this week about this. Her ideas of God were different than ours, but she agreed that we are all here on earth for a reason, and that we all need to learn something. She is absolutley right. I really enjoyed how she said that we need to choose weather or not we want to learn from those opperunities that we are given. I know that God loves us and that we are here for a reason. I challange all of you this week to look on the positive side of negative situations and find out how you can learn from them and have them befefit you in your life. Thank you for all that you do.

here are a few pictures.

Great week!

This has been another great week here. We had the oppertunity to see Hradec Králové be established as a ward. The Bishop was the Branch President, and he is amazing. I am so glad to be able to serve here and work with these amazing members. They are all such great examples, and willing to work with and help the missionaries. The young men group and all preparing to serve missions, and are always willing to teach with us. It's so great.

This week we started by going to Prague to finish my visa work, and I now have a 2 year Visa for the Czech Republic. I'm way excited, and it's a good thing we had it because some officers asked for our ID's when we were tracting, and I was very scared (like always when I'm around cops) but they were super cool and even talked to us a little bit when we started asking them if they were beleivers and if they wanted to learn more about Jesus Christ. Way cool experience.

I was also able to go on an exchange with an Elder in my District, who is also my Zone Leader, and he is a great missionary. We taught together and found together and I learned tons on how to teach simply and with the spirit. I love how we always have more to learn here in life, and that God will always put us in positions where we can learn.

This week, we will be able to go to Prague again for the renunion of the Dedication of the Czech/Slovak mission. The mission started with 7 members living here, and now has almost 2,700 today. It is such an amazing historical time for the mission and the members. I'm very excited.

That's about it, thanks for all you do, have a great week!

Week one in Hradec Králové

This week has flown by really quick. I feel like I just wrote last weeks letter. Anyways, I am in a beautiful city with about 96,000 people (not sure how many there are now, college is out so a lot went home for the summer). This is a very great city. We started the week teaching a new convert who is so solid! She absolutley loves the Gospel and what it brings her in her life. She is always asking if she can teach other invistigators with us. We had some other great lessons this week as well and I love the members, they are so great to teach with and get to know.

On saturday, we had a sports night, its a great activity to get a lot of people out and get to know the missionaries and members. We had about 30 people playing soccer with us, it was so crazy! I had always thought that I wouldn't be the best at soccer, and on saturday, it was confirmed but it was way fun though! Sunday was great. I have had the blessing in serving in two areas with amazing wards. The ward here is so great. There was a missionary who just returned home this week and he shared a great spiritual thought and it was so great to see.

This week we also went to Prague! TWICE! once on friday for a doctors appoitment for my comp, hes fine don't worry, and then today for visa work for me, way exciting, I love the Czech Republic, and man the weather is warming up, so we get plenty of time to tan as well. Thanks for all of your support and prayers, I realized the only pictures I have are from when I left Ostrava, I'll try to get better at that... Have a great week!

Transfer week

This has been an amazing week, our zone had the oppertunity to go to Hradec Kralove and meet our new Mission President and his wife. We had a small training and meet and greet and it was all in czech, and I loved it! It's so great to see how much the church is growing here and how the Czech people are really leading the church here under God's direction. We had a small personal interview with him and it was so great to be able to talk with him one on one. I love him already, I know they are called of God to lead the mission at this time.

This last week in Ostrava was great. On saturday, there was a going away party for a member who is going to England on a mission. It was so great to be able to be there and spend some time with the ward. Sunday was great. We were able to have a fast a testimony meeting, and I was asked to say the opening prayer. I was so excited! Then I shared my testimony, and when I was in front of everybody I kindof forgot how to speak czech, but the spirit touched them all =) I am going to miss Ostrava, but I know that I'm going where God wants and needs me and that work will always press forward.

So about the transfer, I am now in Hradec Kralove, and my other companion Eler Tingey is staying in Ostrava and will be training the one Elder coming in to the mission this transfer. He is so blessed that he gets to start his mission is Ostrava. The six months I spent there went by so fast!

I am very excited to serve here with our Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders. I have heard so many great things about Hradec Kralove, and I have even been here a few times on exchanges and things, so I'm so glad I am able to serve here. The history here is amazing, so many beatiful buildings and locations, and I think it has around 80,000 or 100,000 people, so we have some contacting to do! I'm very excited for this new transfer. My companion is from Utah and has been out for four months and we are very excited to work together. Thank you for all of your prayers, I love you all.

Amazing Week

This has been such a great week, the weather is warming up that's for sure. I have a whole new respect for water. It's so amazing to see the differences in a city that the weather can bring. When I first got to Ostrava, it was December 30th, 2015. I think. Anyways it was cold, but not snowy, then it slowly got snowy and cold and was like that for a while, then it warmed up and everything changed. The trees turned green, it heated up, it's so cool to see the change. I have really grown to love Ostrava, I love it here.

This week we went to Prague for our last training with President McConkie. It was so amazing to hear his training about Testimonies and the work. He used a lot from a talk given by President Uchtdorf in the April 2008 General conference. He talked about the strength our testimonies have and how we should declare, teach, and testify of everything we hear to be true, believe to be true, and know to be true. He then let his family, a senior couple who are going home, and 2 missionaries who are going home as well share their testimonies at the end. It was so amazing to sit and feel the spirit teach and testify of what was being shared.

President Pohořelicky was set apart  last week by President Nelson, and tomorrow when his plane hits the ground and he gets off, he is the Mission President of the Czech/Slovak mission. He will have about an hour meeting with President McConkie, then he takes over fully. I know he will be an amazing Mission President. It doesn't usually happen when a missionary meets their new President before he is the President, but many of the missionaries here have met, and even worked with him. I had the opportunity to meet and talk with him several times and conferences. He is truly an amazing man.

This week I had the oppertunity to go on an exchange with Elder Rees from Salt Lake City Utah. He is way cool, very funny and very spiritual. I knows how to bring joy into the work and continue to work hard. It was really great to get to be with him for a day, even though our three lessons we had on plan all fell through. I learned a lot from him and his great example. He has been out for a 21 months, so he knows the work and it was great to see how he has learned how to work hard.

We had the opportunity to go to a museum for our culture event, where a member works. It was a WWII memorial museum, and is at a locations where a battle was fought for Ostrava. It was really cool to see all the history there. We were also able to go and spend some time with the Buzorlovi family. They invited all the missionaries over for a BBQ and we played sports with them and had a great time.

The pictures attached are from that and from the museum =) thank you for your prayers and support, have a great week.
